HI! My name is Nicholas (a.k.a. “Nico”).  I am a 12 lb. chocolate poodle who is house trained and neutered. I was found as a stray on the south side of Chicago.  Could I be a White Sox fan?  My age is a bit of a mystery. The doctor estimated that I am 5-7 years old but said that I could be younger. You see, my teeth were not properly taken care of by my previous owners so it was hard for the doctor to say how many birthdays I have had.  But, since coming to ARF, my bad teeth have been removed and I am ready to smile at everyone I meet.
One thing is certain, however.  I am a sweet little gentleman. I enjoy the pleasure of good company and love to be with people. I am friendly and polite to everyone as I make their acquaintance. This includes kids, people, cats and dogs!  I am a little on the quiet side and rarely bark.  Since I behave like a gentleman, my foster family takes me just about everywhere.  I have already been to the school, sports practices and softball games!  When driving in the car, I will ride in the crate if I absolutely have to but I much prefer to cuddle in the backseat with one of my people. If you will do me the honor of escorting you on your summer strolls, I will show you my good manners on the leash; I prance at your side with my tail held high and wagging happily.  At the end of the busy day, nothing pleases me more than curling up at the foot of your bed for a good night’s sleep.
You may have noticed from my pictures that I am sporting a new summer “do.” I am so excited!  I have a new look and a new chance at the good life.  Now, I just need a new loving forever family to make it all complete.  If you want to give a handsome, gentle soul the good life, then I am your man! 

Nicholas is micro-chipped, up to date on all vaccinations, housebroken and neutered. His new family will be required to complete a basic obedience course of their choosing. Nicholas's adoption fee is $250.
