Baby Doll arrived into rescue so matted she was having a hard time eating and drinking.  She was covered in fleas, feces, filth, sticks, stones and matted dirty hair.  Her eyes, ears, and nose were full of mites and she had just about given up on all the humans controlling her world.  ARF promised her it was only going to be hard for a little while longer, if she would just be brave it was gonna get way, way better.  So, starting with a complete body shave, then a warm bath and into the arms of a safe, loving foster home she went.  With necessary medicines, clean food and water, and other less traumatized kittens to learn from Baby Doll is now taking tiny steps into accepting, and even welcoming, people into her world. Baby Doll will only be adopted into an experienced permanent home, preferably with other kittens and/or cats that she can continue to learn from.

Baby Doll has come miles from where she first started in foster care but will be a work in progress for some time to come.  She is sweet and loves to play games with her humans but shies away from direct contact until she sees another kitten interacting in a positive manner, then she joins the fun.  The other kittens have put an end to her constant hiding by seeking her out for games and she now truly enjoys and occasionally initiates play time.  She frequently sleeps with Jasmine and Harry, other foster kittens in the household and snuggles in with grand dame Missy regularly.  She is not adverse to occasionally cuddling up with the older uncle cats in her foster home either but avoids the dogs and puppies as too loud, noisy and jumpy for her taste.

She likes to be high on the cat tree to observe household activities and will occasionally roll over for a belly rub in the passing as her foster Mom and Dad move through the house.  Laser toy and feather wand are her absolute favorite games and allow her that safe distance for her to warm up to the human in the room.  She enjoys grooming but still needs to face away from you while you are brushing.  Grooming times are starting to bring out a satisfied rumble from her belly.  She will sneak a peek over her shoulder from time to time while being brushed, exercising that bravery and growing a smidge more confident daily.

While we have limited pictures of Baby Doll now we will update her post as more become available.

Baby Doll is a female, long hair, approximately 16 weeks old, has been micro-chipped and fully vetted.  Her adoption fee is $125.00.  All adopters are required to spay or neuter at an appropriate time. If you feel you are the right family to adopt and continue her transformation into the loving kitten that hides inside her fill out an on line adoption form at http://www.arf-il.org/application.html .  We will get the process started and contact you to schedule a meeting when your application is approved.  She does not regularly attend events so her foster family will make a private appointment at their home for approved applicants.

More information about our adoption process can be found on our website here: https://www.arf-il.org/adopt/

As an all-volunteer, foster home-based organization, A.R.F. Animal Rescue Foundation does not have a facility where applicants can visit our animals. Please visit https://www.arf-il.org/events/ for a list of our upcoming adoption events.
