Get ready! You are about to meet Harvey and he will melt your heart. This 5 year old 35lb beagle boy is an honest to goodness GOOD DOG! Harvey has those lovable beagle eyes, is 100% housebroken, neutered and get this…he’s NOT a big barker! That said, he gets a bit excited around dinner time (who doesn’t?!) and will let out a happy AWHOOOOO when the kibbles hit the bowl!!!!

Harvey is wonderful with kids (his foster mom has a 15 month old grandson and he is super tolerant of his pokes, pulls and will even lay with him). He’s a lap dog but will also have no problem with chilling on his own on his bed or sofa. He also loves other dogs and is known to romp and snuggle pretty hard with his foster sisters!

Harvey is also really, really playful! He also fetches like a pro! Throw the ball and Harvey will romp over to it, run it back to you and push it into your hands! He’ll do this until it’s time for a nap if you’d like!

He’s a tremendous cuddler, and loves hugs and long ear rubs. He also loves to lounge about on the furniture, so he needs a home that’s cool with that. He’s not a huge fan of the crate but will tolerate it. Truth be told, her can be left out and have the run of the home during day or night and he never makes any trouble. He’ll snooze on the sofa while your away and be ready to greet you and snuggle when you are back!

Being a beagle, Harvey follows his nose wherever he goes, and would do best with a fenced in yard. He also really loves his doggie buddies and attention, so we’d love to see him placed in a home with another dog and possible a stay at home parent or retired individual. Remember, he’s great with kids too, and would make a fantastic family dog.

Harvey was saved just in time from a high-kill pound in Southern Illinois. He seems to have not been taken care of so well by his first owner, but after a nice vet visit and an ear cleaning, he’s feeling like a million dollars and is so, so happy and relieved to be in his foster home. Now all he needs to do is AWHOOO! Himself into your family! He’s got a lot of love to give! Don’t miss out on this sweet, amazing dog!

Harvey is micro-chipped, up to date on all vaccinations, house-broken and neutered. His new family will be required to complete a basic obedience course of their choosing. Harvey's adoption fee is $200.
