Ivy is a 1 yr old black Labrador Retriever ready to settle into a forever home. As a stray, she fell into the hands of ARF a bit skittish and independent. Within a few days of being in her foster home, Ivy has comfortably settled in and affectionately encourages head massages. She readily welcomes a pat down while passing by strangers on walks. Ivy is content with a relaxing stroll (loves getting in a good sniff), but does have the athleticism for jogging and long walks. She is very gentle, quiet, easy to handle and doesn't have a mean bone in her body. She loves to play fetch with tennis balls and will sit on command. Ivy has big feet and a big noggen, but needs to fill out a little. That shouldn't be a problem in the coming weeks, as she has a great appetite and no known food sensitivities. While left home alone, Ivy roams freely without any issues. At night, she prefers the comfort of her crate. If you're looking for a gentle, sweet-tempered, and easy-going companion, Ivy is your gal.

Ivy came to ARF in heat, so her spay surgery has been postponed for a couple of weeks per ARF's vet's advice.  However, If her new owners will take her to ARF's vet's at Wheaton Animal Hospital or VCA Naper Ridge Animal Hospital ARF will cover the cost of her basic spay surgery.

Ivy weighs approx. 55 lbs., is microchipped and ready for her new home!  Ivy's adoption fee is $200.00 and, as with all young ARF dogs, her new owner will be required to attend an obedience class of their choice.
