Ward is a wonderful long haired Min Pin, all of 10#’s, at approximately 1 year old. Ward, and 56 other animals, were rescued from a hoarding situation in Indiana. ARF pulled 9 dogs from this situation after a call for help from the local municipal high kill shelter. Ward is being fostered in a family home that includes a few of his fellow Min Pins from this rescue, kittens, a cat, two adult dogs and a large puppy; he gets along well with all of them. Ward is learning about and loving rawhide bones, regular meals, clean water, toys, toys, toys and warm puppy beds. His coat is beautiful, a majestic red with gold accents and a woolly mammoth feel; he has green and gold eyes, and his tail has been docked, although his ears were not clipped. Ward came to us with minimal socialization and an aversion to human touch; after settling in Ward has figured out that humans are excellent companions. He seeks out interaction with his foster Mom and Dad, wanting them to play or throw a toy to him, and shows normal curiosity when a new person enters his home. Although he is a bit shy initially, a short amount of patience generally earns you a good looking over and invitation to scratch his chin. He is learning to walk on a leash and enjoys the one on one time that leash walking earns him. He is perpetually curious at the world around him, examining everything on his walks and stopping to just enjoy the wind in his face. Ward is a more reserved pup, not an “in your face snuggler”, but does like to lie next to or near his humans and keeps up with everyone’s status in the household all the time. At night he heads right for the foot of his foster parents bed, dreaming of his forever family and all the love he’ll bring to them. Ward is very good about housebroken, he has been fully vetted, micro chipped and neutered. His adoption fee is $200.00. All adopters are required to enroll their companions in basic family dog class; Ward will benefit tremendously from the bonding with his human that a basic obedience class will bring him. Ward is so intelligent and quick to pick up new things that we fully expect him to graduate at the head of his class. If you feel you are the right family to make our Ward's dreams of a forever family come true fill out an on line adoption form. We will get the process started and contact you for an appointment to meet him when approval is granted. Ward will make personal appearances at the ARF Adoption Events, sponsored by our rescue partners at various ARF function locations. See our events page for places, times and dates. He is available to meet approved adopters outside of adoption events by appointment. More about WardGood with Dogs, Good with Cats, Good with Kids

Due to a high volume of applications, we are often unable to respond to questions or schedule meetings until your application has been approved. More information about our adoption process can be found on our website here: https://www.arf-il.org/adopt/ As an all-volunteer, foster home-based organization, A.R.F. Animal Rescue Foundation does not have a facility where applicants can visit our animals. Please visit https://www.arf-il.org/events/ for a list of our upcoming adoption events.
