Thanks for your interest in a pet from A.R.F.! If you see a pet here, they are still available for adoption and you should apply through our adoption application on our website at https://www.arf-il.org/adopt/application/ Bailey's Special Adoption Fee is $175.00
Bailey is a super sweet Min Pin, all of 5#’s currently, at approximately 2 years old. Bailey, and 56 other animals, were rescued from a hoarding situation in Indiana. ARF pulled 9 dogs from this situation after a call for help from the local municipal high kill shelter. Bailey and another Min Pin from this rescue, Charlie, are being fostered by the same family to give the pups some sense of security as they begin their new lives. Bailey is learning about and loving rawhide bones, regular meals, clean water and warm puppy beds. His coat is beautifully, silky and gleaming, and his tail has been docked, although his ears were not clipped. Bailey came to us with minimal socialization, an adversion to human touch, and absolutely no ability to tolerate interaction with the other dogs and cats in his foster home. He has begun seeking out human interaction, looking for the pat hello when seperated from his humans, shows curiosity when a new person enters the room and joy at seeing his foster Dad. Although he is still easily startled we are seeing excellent signs of the wonderful pup he wants to be, and his perpetual curiousity about all the normal household activities; loading the dishwasher, making meals, cleaning the floor. He investigates every stick and blade of grass when outside, and every toy or item that falls to the kitchen floor. He now loves playing with his fellow foster puppies and the kittens. He is working up his courage to interact with the big dogs and prefers the older, calmer ones to the younger high energy pup. But, when nap time comes, he is a major snuggler, heading right for his brother Charlie and the blanket burrow they have built, dreaming of his forever family and all the love he’ll bring to them. Bailey is working on housebreaking and successfully using the papers laid out for this purpose. He has been fully vetted, microchipped and neutered. His adoption fee is $200.00. All adopters are required to enroll their companions in basic family dog class; Bailey will benefit tremendously from the additional social interaction dog class will bring him. If you feel you are the right family to make our Bailey's dreams of a forever family come true fill out an on line adoption form. We will get the process started and contact you for an appointment to meet him when approval is granted. Bailey will make personal appearances at the ARF Adoption Events, sponsored by our rescue partners at various ARF function locations. See our events page for places, times and dates. He is available to meet approved adopters outside of adoption events by appointment. More about BaileyGood with Dogs, Good with Cats
