Notes from the So. IL shelter where she was rescued from:  The first thing that stood out to the volunteers about Nena is how sweet her beautiful face is.  They weren't suprised to learn that Nena is every bit as sweet as her kind face looks.   She is absolutely darling and dear, and desperate for a love and pet from the volunteers.  She happily comes forward to get treats, and waits patiently and quietly in her run when the volunteers are dealing with other dogs, until it is her time for attention and a snack.  Her tail is docked, so she was owned by somebody at some point in time.  Nena is an absolutely LOVELY and beautiful girl; so very deserving of a safe and loving place to return all the affection she will clearly give! 

Nena was found as a stray in Southern Illinois, very thin and tired.  She is now in her ARF foster home.  She is still very thin and needs to build muscle tone, but she is eating well and loves to run and play.  She was welcomed into ARF's care on Tuesday, 9/20, where she'll get lots of TLC and soon a new life with a loving new forever family.  Could that family be yours?  Her adoption fee is $300. 

Nena was heartworm positive and was too far gone to be saved.  She was adopted by her foster parents Frank and Kim, just before they helped her on her journey to the Rainbow Bridge.  She was sent on her way with much love and many tears on Thursday, November 3, 2011.  Bless you, Nena! xox
