About Newton

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog
  • Declawed: No

Newton is a young, not fully grown Border Collie Mix.  He is fabulous with kids, their volume doesn't scare him.  He rolls over on his belly so kids can just pet and rub his belly.  Very playful but mellow.  Loved his bath.  Cried like baby all night until foster Mom brought him in her bedroom and put put him in puppy corral so he could see her while he slept.  Crying ceased immediately.  And he has learned a couple new tricks with the foster family's hand signals and he is picking it at record pace.

Newton was rescued from Chicao Animal Control on Friday, July 8th.  For all the recent stressful events, he's pretty calm.  His tail is like a whole poodle in itself.  He is indifferent to cats so far, curious at most, but he does want to sniff them.  They are appalled.  Don't think he's 'after them' but time will tell.

He's used to getting his way...must have been a tied out or outdoor dog.  His licks/kisses are very gentle.  He's instinctively tender with the little kids.

Thank you for considering a rescue pet from A.R.F.-Animal Rescue Foundation! We are  based in Wheaton, IL and conduct adoption events in the DuPage County area. If you are interested in adopting one of our pets, please submit an adoption application at https://www.arf-il.org/adopt/application/

Adoption appointments are scheduled based on the order of applications received, so submit your application early! Submitting an application does not commit you to any animal but does get you a head start with the adoption approval process. Due to a high volume of applications, we are often unable to respond to questions or schedule meetings until your application has been approved. More information about our adoption process can be found on our website here: https://www.arf-il.org/adopt/

As an all-volunteer, foster home-based organization, A.R.F. Animal Rescue Foundation does not have a facility where applicants can visit our animals. Please visit https://www.arf-il.org/events/ for a list of our upcoming adoption events.

Thank you for choosing to adopt, not shop!
