Weiss is an all white Great Pyrenees mix.  She is a young female, super friendly, good with everyone and everything.  She came in off of rescue transport on Saturday 6/18, and she was only a few short days from euthanization when rescued. 

Weiss (German for "white) was examined and spayed by ARF's vet on 6/20.  She is fully vaccinated and microchipped.  She didn't eat much the first day, which is not unusual, but her appetite is back and she did her business outside, just as she is supposed to. 

Weiss is a little protective of her personal space when other dogs first approach.  She wags her tail, but also grumbles to let them know not to approach too fast.  She is very sweet with people, very gentle and submissive.  She likes affection, but you can tell that she is ready to bolt if anyone makes a threatening motion.  She had no reaction to our cats.  She likes affection and wants to be where her people are.

She wanted you to know that the second picture below caught her starting to shake her head to get the mosquitos off.  She thought the pic made it look like she was snarling... not true!  She is just gorgeous, and she is poetry in motion when she runs.  She also has beautiful, brown / gold eyes that are very striking, but don't seem to show up in the pictures. 

Weiss can be seen at ARF's adoption event on Saturday, 6/25, at PetSmart in Wheaton.
