Rayo is an 8 year old male Labrador Retriever mix who weighs in at 78 pounds.  This dog's adoption fee is $300.  If you are still interested, please read more below.

Rayo found himself at a local animal shelter and ARF came to his rescue.  Through no fault of his own, Rayo finds himself in need of a new home because his owner is no longer available to care for him.  Rayo is an energetic, lovable, inquisitive snuggle-bug. He will play until he's tired then become a couch potato for a long nap. He loves chasing tennis balls and squirrels, and likes a short game of tug with his rope. You would never know he's 8 years old because he still plays and acts like a much younger dog. He LOVES his treats. He is food motivated, however he does show some food aggression and should be fed away from other dogs.  There are 2 other dogs in his foster home.  He interacts well with one of his foster brothers, but he doesn't get along with the other older blind dog.

Rayo seems to be a very loyal dog. He follows his foster mom everywhere and looks for her when she's in another room or outside. He spends lots of nap time sleeping at her feet. He is potty trained and lets his someone know when he has to go outside. Rayo is good in the house when his foster mom goes to work.

Rayo is microchipped, up to date on all vaccinations, housebroken, and neutered.  This dog's family will be required to complete a basic obedience course of their choosing.  A meeting will not be scheduled until you have an approved application, so if you are interested in adopting this dog, fill out an Online Application today!  Once your application has been approved, an ARF volunteer will contact you to arrange a meeting.

Thank you for considering a rescue pet from A.R.F.-Animal Rescue Foundation! We are  based in Wheaton, IL and conduct adoption events in the DuPage County area. If you are interested in adopting one of our pets, please submit an adoption application at https://www.arf-il.org/adopt/application/

Adoption appointments are scheduled based on the order of applications received, so submit your application early! Submitting an application does not commit you to any animal but does get you a head start with the adoption approval process. Due to a high volume of applications, we are often unable to respond to questions or schedule meetings until your application has been approved. More information about our adoption process can be found on our website here: https://www.arf-il.org/adopt/

As an all-volunteer, foster home-based organization, A.R.F. Animal Rescue Foundation does not have a facility where applicants can visit our animals. Please visit https://www.arf-il.org/events/ for a list of our upcoming adoption events.

Thank you for choosing to adopt, not shop!
