Bandit is a 6 month old male Maltese/Shih Tzu/Bichon.  This dog's adoption fee is $900.  If you are still interested, please read more below.

Meet Bandit. He is very very cute and as much as his foster wants to cuddle with him and show him the love an animal should get, we have to do things on his time.  He is still learning about humans and does not trust fast movements. He loves his foster brother, a mini-schnauzer.  He follows him everywhere and loves to play and sleep with him. He will do best with another dog in the home.  Bandit is a silly boy and loves to play just like a puppy should.  His foster brother loves humans and Bandit is slowly warming up and coming closer and closer to humans. Bandit does submissive pee.  Urination accompanied by submissive behavior  is known as submissive urination. The underlying cause of submissive urination is fear. A number of triggers such as a person approaching, punishment, scolding, and a deep and loud voice can cause dogs of any age to urinate submissively. As he gets more comfortable with humans and trusts humans he should outgrow this.

He needs someone who is patience and understands that it will take time for him to feel comfortable.   Each day Bandit is realizing that humans are not all bad. He will come and lick his foster human’s toes and will lay next his foster's feet at night when the house is calm and his foster dog brother is snuggling with his human.

Bandit is microchipped, up to date on all vaccinations and neutered.  This dog's family will be required to complete a basic obedience course of their choosing.  A meeting will not be scheduled until you have an approved application, so if you are interested in adopting this dog, fill out an Online Application today!  Once your application has been approved, an ARF volunteer will contact you to arrange a meeting.

Thank you for considering a rescue pet from A.R.F.-Animal Rescue Foundation! We are  based in Wheaton, IL and conduct adoption events in the DuPage County area. If you are interested in adopting one of our pets, please submit an adoption application at https://www.arf-il.org/adopt/application/

Adoption appointments are scheduled based on the order of applications received, so submit your application early! Submitting an application does not commit you to any animal but does get you a head start with the adoption approval process. Due to a high volume of applications, we are often unable to respond to questions or schedule meetings until your application has been approved. More information about our adoption process can be found on our website here: https://www.arf-il.org/adopt/

As an all-volunteer, foster home-based organization, A.R.F. Animal Rescue Foundation does not have a facility where applicants can visit our animals. Please visit https://www.arf-il.org/events/ for a list of our upcoming adoption events.

Thank you for choosing to adopt, not shop!
