Zamp is an incredibly resilient and strong cat looking for a loving furever home.  Zamp showed up in the backyard of an ARF foster.  The amount of neglect Zamp had experienced was severe.  He was flea-infested, dirty, malnourished, dehydrated, and had been attached by an animal.  Zamp sustained several deep puncture wounds on his side, and was marked with blue ink.  It is suspected he was used for dog fighting.

The ARF foster brought Zamp to an emergency vet where he received urgent care. Many amazing people donated towards his medical care.  He had internal infections due to the dog bite.  He weighed just 5 pounds.

Zamp went to follow-up visits to the vet to get additional care to manage his symptoms.  Zamp worked hard to survive and after many weeks of love and medication, Zamp's condition improved dramatically.  His woundd healed and he gained weight.  He now weighs over 11 pounds.  In addition to his physical healing, Zamp's spirit also rebounded.

Zamp is playful, curious, polite, gentle, and friendly.  He seeks attention from people and other cats and enjoys the simple things like sitting next to you on the couch to watch tv.  He flips over on his back to request belly rubs and head scratches.  At night, he sleeps right next to his foster parent.  Zamp is energetic and needs daily activity.  He absolutely loves to play with mouse toys (including fetch) and wand toys.  When Zamp is alone he gets sad and cries.  He needs to go to a home that already has a cat friend.  He loves cat scratchers and would love to have a cat tree he can perch from.

Fast movements such as people standing up quickly, or fast hand movements make him nervous.  He would do best in a quiet home without small children.  Zamp should NEVER be in a home with dogs.

Zamp eat dry kidney friendly cat food as recommended by the vet, but regular wet food.  He loves his water fountain!

Zamp is micro-chipped, neutered, and litter box trained.
