Harley and Walker are 7 year old siblings who have been raised together by the same human mom and dad since being adopted as babies from a Georgia rescue.  Their canine mom was a purebred show Beagle who somehow ended up pregnant from an unknown father.  Based on coloring and other characteristics they are thought to be mixed with Golden Retriever or Lab with some Dachshund thrown in.  They find themselves needing a new home due to allergies that have developed in a family member and downsizing of housing with a move to Illinois that require them to be confined to smaller areas of the home to prevent spread of allergens.  

Harley and Walker have been brought up well!  They have been socialized and are housebroken, crate trained, and good with respectful young children, other dogs, and most likely cats.  If you are looking for a pair of well behaved pups who are energetic but well past the puppy stage, these two cuties would be a great addition to your family!  That being said, if Harley and Walker cannot find a home together, their current owner feels they would do ok individually.

Here are some things to know about Walker:

-Weighs in at 31 pounds

- Goofy little buddy

- Well behaved but a little slower to learn tricks; ask him to play dead and he might spin in a circle for you instead

- Loves to give licks, may well lick even your knee if it's nearby and he wants to say he loves you

- He's a real gentleman; if you get down on his level he'll try and shake your hand

- Loves to chase bumblebees. He's never been able to catch one, but he's sure determined

- When excited will leap about three feet straight up like a bouncing ball, all four paws

- Will curl up on top of your feet like a fuzzy foot warmer

- Will tap a bell with his nose to tell you he needs to go out

- Will sit patiently when you give him food until you give him a command to eat

- Very calm and sweet with young children

- If you give him peanut butter he will love you forever

- Will play fetch exactly twice and then wander off to follow an interesting smell

- Dislikes being on a leash, if he smells something interesting with his super beagle nose he will be relentless in trying to pull you to it

Walker is micro-chipped, up to date on all vaccinations, housebroken and neutered. His new family will be required to complete a basic obedience course of their choosing.

Walker's adoption fee is $375.  A meeting will not be scheduled until you have an approved application, so if you're interested in adopting Walker fill out an Online Application today!
