Harley and Walker are 7 year old siblings who have been raised together by the same human mom and dad since being adopted as babies from a Georgia rescue.  Their canine mom was a purebred show Beagle who somehow ended up pregnant from an unknown father.  Based on coloring and other characteristics they are thought to be mixed with Golden Retriever or Lab with some Dachshund thrown in.  They find themselves needing a new home due to allergies that have developed in a family member and downsizing of housing with a move to Illinois that require them to be confined to smaller areas of the home to prevent spread of allergens.  

Harley and Walker have been brought up well!  They have been socialized and are housebroken, crate trained, and good with respectful young children, other dogs, and most likely cats.  If you are looking for a pair of well behaved pups who are energetic but well past the puppy stage, these two cuties would be a great addition to your family!  That being said, if Harley and Walker cannot find a home together, their current owner feels they would do ok individually.

Here are some things to know about Harley:

-Weighs in at 25 pounds

- Incredibly clever, learns tricks quickly and is excited to try them out

- Loves belly rubs, will roll over at your feet and give you puppy eyes until you give in

- Will get excited and try all her fun tricks (shake, play dead, roll, etc.) to impress you

- Will sit in your lap and lean her weight on you like you're a big pillow, loves to lean back and tuck her head into your neck for kisses

- Will tap a bell with her nose to tell you she needs to go out

- Will sit patiently when you give her food until you give her a command to eat

- Adores people and will take pets from pretty much anyone

- Loved by veterinarians, always sweet and cooperative, and tries to give all the techs kisses

- Dislikes sudden loud noises and larger dogs that get in her space when meeting; will shrink down or roll to show her belly but bounces back quick when the noise passes and warms up to even very large dogs (>100lbs)

- Dislikes beef-based food and can get a tummy ache or gas so she prefers chicken-based foods

- If you give her an antler or bone she will happily work on it for hours

Harley is micro-chipped, up to date on all vaccinations, housebroken and spayed. Her new family will be required to complete a basic obedience course of their choosing.

Harley's adoption fee is $375.  A meeting will not be scheduled until you have an approved application, so if you're interested in adopting Harley fill out an Online Application today!
