Jack Sparrow is a 10 to 12 week old male Old English Sheepdog and weighs about 13 pounds .   He is a very confident goofy puppy that loves toys and playing with his humans.   Jack loves training and has been working very hard on his skills. He knows some basic commands including 'sit', 'watch me', and 'touch'. He is doing well with leash walking skills. Jack has been working diligently on his housetraining and does very well when kept to a schedule. However, he is a puppy and will need continued work in this area. He is sleeping mostly through the night and is comfortable in a crate.  Jack loves playing with other dogs and meeting new people. He hasn't had any children in his foster home but has met a few while out and about, and loved playing with them. He has been exposed to cats in his foster home but will need continued socialization to do well in a cat home. 

Old English Sheepdogs do require a fair amount of grooming to upkeep their big fluffy double coats. Jack has begun basic grooming training including comfort with baths, nail trims, and standing on a grooming table.

Jack would do best in a home with an experienced dog owner who enjoys training and regularly exercising their dog. He might enjoy sports like agility or obedience to keep his mind active. He will likely grow to 70 to 100 pounds and needs a handler who is confident with large dogs. 

This pup is micro-chipped and up to date on all vaccinations, and neutered.  The new family will be required to complete a basic obedience course of their choosing.  The pup's adoption fee is $1200.  Please note ARF does not approve applications for any puppy under 6 months of age to families that live outside of Illinois and/or beyond 100 miles of Wheaton or Glen Ellyn, IL.  A meeting will not be scheduled until you have an approved application, so if you're interested in adopting this pup fill out an online application today!  https://www.arf-il.org/adopt/application/  Once your application has been approved, an ARF volunteer will contact you to arrange a meeting.  ARF is an all volunteer organization.  Due to a high volume of applications, we are often unable to respond to questions until your application has been approved.  Thank you for your patience!
