Nina is an 8 month old female lab mix.  This cutie is looking for an active household with someone home most of the time to help her manage all of her teenage puppy energy.  A fenced in backyard would be great too!  Nina is potty trained and will let you know when she needs to go out.  She is a really quick learner, highly treat motivated, and is sometimes too smart for her own good.  She may get into mischief if her mind is not challenged, and already knows sit, stay, down, wait, and leave it.  Nina walks well on a leash and sleeps calmly in her crate or on the bed at night.  She is extremely social and working on learning to stay calm while meeting new people and other dogs.  She is great with the resident cat and despite sometimes playing too much, they still love each other.  Nina likes to be with her human, and becomes uneasy when they leave.  This is not uncommon for a dog of her age, but she will need a human who can patiently help her improve in this area.  On the positive side, she is the best road trip buddy!  She sits completely still once the car starts moving and lies down or looks out the window.

This pup is micro-chipped and up to date on all vaccinations, housetrained and spayed.  The new family will be required to complete a basic obedience course of their choosing.  The pup's adoption fee is $400.  Please note ARF does not approve applications for any puppy under 6 months of age to families that live outside of Illinois and/or beyond 100 miles of Wheaton or Glen Ellyn, IL.  A meeting will not be scheduled until you have an approved application, so if you're interested in adopting this pup fill out an online application today!  https://www.arf-il.org/adopt/application/  Once your application has been approved, an ARF volunteer will contact you to arrange a meeting.  ARF is an all volunteer organization.  Due to a high volume of applications, we are often unable to respond to questions until your application has been approved.  Thank you for your patience!
