Hi!  My name is Romeo.  I am a 4 year old Yorkie/Cairn Terrier mix who weighs in at approximately 12 pounds.  I originally came to ARF as an owner surrender, was adopted, and am now coming back to try again to find my perfect forever home.  From what information was provided when I first arrived, my previous owner may not have been patient or taken very good care of me.  And now, the nice folks at ARF have learned that I really prefer to be the only dog, and me and cats don't do well together.

When first with ARF (when the pictures were taken), I wore a belly belt during the day because when I arrived I was very anxious and marked inside.  I wore the belly belt with no issue and my attempts to mark had decreased.  

I like having a safe space to go to and would do well sleeping in a crate at night.

I will go to the door when I have to potty. I am most familiar with being outside in a yard. I don’t go to the bathroom when I’m on walks.  I do go potty in the grass out back on a leash.  I walk well on a leash, I don’t pull.  When I see other dogs I get a bit vocal but as long as my human keeps me close by on a shortened leash, I walk with the human and quiet down once we pass.

My old foster mom says I’m mouthy.  I don’t talk back or bite, however when I want to be silly I think it’s ok to try and put my foster moms hand in my mouth.  I don’t bite down and I am fine if my mom gently holds onto my teeth, which makes me stop.  

I like to lounge on the floor or on the couch.  I am a space hog and like to push my foster mom with my hind legs to scoot away when I am done snuggling.  My foster moms says I’m a funny guy who just needs a patient owner and someone familiar with dogs.  

When people come into the home, I am interested and greet them politely. I do not jump.  I am indifferent toward children, so older, respectable kids might be ok.

I can be energetic for a bit before turning into a couch potato. I enjoy showing off my tricks for treats (sit, stay, stand).  I am a good boy with a silly personality who would love a kind, patient human to call mine! 

Romeo is micro-chipped, up to date on all vaccinations, and neutered.  His new family will be required to complete a basic obedience course of their choosing.

Romeo's adoption fee is $400.  A meeting will not be scheduled until you have an approved application, so if you're interested in adopting Romeo fill out an Online Application today!
