Contact Bailey Blue's Caretaker/Foster Directly: ARF Thanks for your interest in a pet from A.R.F.! If you see a pet here, they are still available for adoption and you should apply through our adoption application on our website at https://www.arf-il.org/adopt/application/
Female, spayed, about 3 years old (as of August 2018), microchipped, up to date on vaccinations, currently in a foster home, will be making appearances at ARF Adoption Events (see http://www.arf-il.org/events.html or https://www.facebook.com/A.R.F.Illinois for times and locations), adoption fee $110. Once an ARF cat always an ARF cat. Bailey was adopted about 2 years ago by a very nice lady. Bailey was the queen of the house and was well loved. She had the full run of the house and played with the grandchildren and the caregivers. Unfortunately for Bailey her owner’s health deteriorated to the point where she could no longer care for Bailey and her owner called ARF. We happily took Bailey back into our fold. However, Bailey was very upset and scared by the big change in her life and her way of showing she was scared was to hiss and act mean. After some time in a foster home Bailey sees we mean her no harm and that we just want the best for her. So she is now calling for attention by meowing when her foster mom walks in the room and allowing her foster mom to pet and hold her. She is particularly good at telling her foster mom when her food dish is low or empty. If she gets a little anxious or scared, she might hiss, but she is not trying to be mean. She is just expressing that she is scared or spooked. This girl is a beautiful charcoal grey like you see in Russian Blue cats. She is a bit particular about her food, only liking certain flavors and brands. She will need an experienced cat owner and it is probably best to be in a house with no dogs or small children. We wouldn’t want Bailey to bite a child if she got spooked. She will be happiest in a home where she is a treasured pet and where it is not too chaotic. She is getting used to other cats visiting her outside her kitty condo cage and even playing with her between the bars. So she is actually starting to like some interaction with other cats, especially kittens. So it is possible with very careful introduction she could be fine in a home with one other very friendly social cat. This special girl deserves another chance for a happy forever home. Won’t you consider this young lady when you think about adopting? If you are interested in meeting Bailey, you can fill out an online adoption application at http://www.arf-il.org/application.html Once your application has been approved, an ARF volunteer will contact you to arrange a meeting with the cat. Filling out the application does not obligate you in any way. Bailey will also be making appearances at ARF Adoption events.
