Another victim of our hard economic times, Jackson's family lost their jobs, and so they were unable to hang on to him, so he has come to ARF!  He is a sweet, loving 9 month old puppy who is pretty calm, but loves to play, and LOVES his humans! 

He would do best in a home with older children (8+) as he is a big dog, and can knock over the little ones.

The family that gets to adopt Jackson will get many years of love affection, and loyalty from a dog who is a true credit to the Standard poodle breed.

Interested adopters should keep in mind:

1.  Standard Poodles do not shed BUT THEY REQUIRE REGULAR AND THOROUGH GROOMING!  This doesn't only inlcude brushing, but also includes ear care, professional grooming, tooth care and the grooming cost on average at about $60-80/every 6 weeks.

2. While adorable poodles, they are truly water retriever hunting dogs, and need A LOT of exercise to keep them happy, healthy and in good spirits.

3. some poodles look at small pets like gerbils, kittens and "critters" as prey, and it is in their natures to hunt. Keep that in mind...

They do, however have a sunny, loving disposition, are incredibly intelligent and suitable as therapy dogs, training for hunting and obedience trials as well as dock diving etc.  They are wonderful agility dogs.

Jackson has already proven to be intelligent at his foster home, and has already learned 2 commands this morning.

Jackson's adoption fee is $300, and previous experience with the breed is preferred.  This breed needs a dedicated owner who can afford it's care and devote the time and effort to keep the coat and spirit healthy!

Other than that...They're a piece of cake, and the best dog you'll ever own!
