Meet Peanut. Just look at his adorable face! This playful, rambunctious 9-month-old orange tabby has been in foster care for seven months and is ready to find his forever home. If you are looking for a sassy, confident little man to share your life with, Peanut may be the perfect match. Peanut is very talkative and adores his humans. He’s not really a lap kitty and he’s too busy to want to be held, but he does sometimes come in for a hug or snuggle; it’s the best feeling when he rubs his chin against your face and purrs. He’s super silly and mischievous. He loves to play peekaboo, hide behind the curtains and pounce on you from around the corner. Peanut’s favorite toys are his tunnel, spring toys, wands and laser light. He plays very well by himself and if he doesn’t have toys around, he’ll look for other ways to have fun. He’s very good at opening cabinets, drawers and even floor vents, so you’ll need to keep an eye on this little guy. He likes to watch the wildlife out the window (or on You Tube) from his cat tree perch. Peanut arrived at ARF with significant GI issues. It took some time and patience, but together with his vets and lots of testing and trial and error, we found a solution to keep his food allergy related Inflammatory Bowel Disease under control. Not to worry…Peanut LOVES to eat and is in perfect health! However, he does require a prescription food diet that’s easy to purchase at any pet store (or online) with a prescription in hand. Peanut is a kitten who is still learning good cat behavior. He loves to play but can sometimes get nippy when he’s having fun and over stimulated, or when he is being redirected away from something he shouldn’t be doing. He also exhibits some dominant/aggressive behavior toward the other cats in his foster home. Therefore, Peanut needs a household where he’s the only pet and where the people are teenagers or older. Peanut is microchipped, up to date on all vaccinations, spayed/neutered , and litter box trained. Peanut 's adoption fee is $135. Please note A.R.F. does not approve applications for any kitten under 6 months of age to families that live outside of Illinois and/or beyond 100 miles of Wheaton or Glen Ellyn, IL. If you are interested in meeting Peanut, please fill out our online kitten adoption application at https://www.arf-il.org/adopt/application/ today! Once your application has been approved, an A.R.F. volunteer will be able to contact you to arrange a meeting.
